It's been 3 months since 2020 kicks in, I never imagined this COVID-19 will be like this. Many people are dying, many people are suffering, dying, getting sick of the disease, mostly of the countries are shutting down and being locked down. People had been laid off temporarily, some for good, some employees got their ours cut and now this Corona virus (COVID-19) has known as a global pandemic crisis.
Our world is crying.. Our mother Land is in pain, wounded..
I never expect that it will be a big hit for us airline/airport employees..
On Wednesday, march 11,2020. Pres. Donald Trump made an announcement that Europe will be banned from US and to europe due to people increasing of the spread of COVID-19.. I and my team were so worried, due to that were not gonna be able to work, no salary, no pay.. How are we gonna survive in everyday life especially that we live here in the US. Since SAS only flies to europe the crew mentioned it to us even the pilot itself that Denmark which is the main hub of SAS has 500 cases in one day. All of the business are being closed down.
And so the announcement begins, the day has come.. Friday was the day when trump had a state of nation address that europe will be banned. Europe to US and alternate.. For the past fews days before our flight has come to a stop, our bookings are getting high and low, a lot lof people wants to go home. People has been re-book for free, passengers can't even get the hold of SAS people through the phone due to a lot of passengers had been calling them to get re-book, refund air fare. I will never forget this incident and this crisis. It is all hard for all of us, especially if your a frontlines like medical, health care, airport and airline employees risking the health just to work, and help, cure the people who are infected.. The only thing that I wouldn't forget through this crisis every passengers, mostly asked us, (what are you gonna do now? whats gonna happen to you now throughout this crisis?) It was just upwarming and overwhelming that throughout this crisis. People are all in one nation, People are altogether through this difficult time, through this crisis..
March 16,2020
It was the saddest day for us employee of SAS, for now this is gonna be the last time that we will fly until this pandemic crisis is over, this is the day that Trump announced that there will be a lockdown or "shelter in place" starting tuesday at midnight for 3 weeks. After the flight Jin our manager abi mentioned it to us employees as well that we will be furlough due to the crisis that we are having right now all over the world. It hurts so much for me, It broke my heart like I broke up with my boyfriend. It just sad because i've been in the company for 4 years and I never experienced this before. It is just a saddened feeling, but I now that this too shall pass. We will fight over this through God, our savior, our healer and our protection. Everything will be back to normal soon, all over the world. After the flight we had our little potluck for the last day temporarily of our flight.. and before we left we surrender our badges and went home.
As days goes by, This COVID-19 is unstoppable with spreading everytime I read and look up social media. People are dying, people are getting infected each day it keeps on increasing when will this pandemic crisis will end, How many people needs to get infected? How many people needs to die just to stop the virus from spreading. Each day is saddened news everytime i hear or see anything about COVID-19. Now they closed the schools until May 1 and they extended our suspension until April 19 until further notice, until this pandemic virus stops. People at the airport are getting laid off,
people losing hours. People are just depending on EDD's to arrive and get approved. As the quarantine here in the US goes by the number of the virus keeps on spreading up day by day,
Right now we are in the month of May and states are re-opening, businesses are opening. Food, retails, bookstores, florist as the governor Newsom had announce that we are ready to phase stage 2 of this quarantine/shelter in place, as long as they comply with the rules with CDC and the safety of the people.
